2023 Tackle Football (8U, 10U & 12U) and Cheerleading registration is open and will remain open through Sunday, July 2, 2023.

Football

Participants will be placed in a division based on their age on August 31, 2023 (no exceptions). The Football Fee ($180) includes registration, game uniform (pants, jersey and helmet decal) and practice jersey with the player's game-jersey number and name across the back.

Individuals are responsible for providing a white helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, cleats and practice pants. In general, equipment is a safety investment and will be used for several seasons. We highly recommend purchasing equipment early to avoid the last minute rush when stock is limited. You can check second hand equipment via Facebook Marketplace or Play it Again Sports. We will also hold an equipment swap & sell, but supplies are very limited.

For reference, the table below contains the football sizes and weight restrictions by age group. For players that exceed the weight restriction by age group, a 90s jersey must be worn. The Youth Football Ops Manual contains specific rules on page 11 of 23.

Greenville County Rec issues a Youth Football Ops Manual that may be helpful to read prior to purchasing equipment (and definitely before start of the season). This manual also includes rules and regulations including weigh-in protocol, playing rules, and operational policies. 

Cheerleading

This season we will have three (3) teams (8U, 10U and 13U). The Cheerleading Fee ($150) includes registration, uniform, bloomers, pom poms, socks and bows. 

Coaching

If you are interested in coaching, please sign up through the registration form. All coaches must submit and pass a background check (https://bib.com/secure-volunteer/Greenville-County-Parks-Recreation-and-Tourism/home) in order to coach. All coaches must also have a current USA Football Youth Certification for Non-Contact & Contact Coaches (https://footballdevelopment.com/youth-certifications/). There are a few easy forms to complete as well, which can be completed closer to the beginning of the season. 

General

Football conditioning will begin the week of July 10th. Mandatory weigh-ins are scheduled for August 8th at 6:00pm. Game schedule will be posted by Greenville County Rec on August 21st with the season kickoff scheduled for August 26th. We will post more details on the timeline / schedule once Greenville County Rec provides additions guidance.
