We recognize that this past year has been a trying time for families, so we have explored all means possible for securing scholarship money for this season and supporting as many families as possible.
Dick's Sporting Goods, one of our very generous sponsors, has a program to help kids with registration fees. Based on the eligibility requirements, your child may meet the qualifications to receive up to $150 in grant funding to assist in paying for registration fees. Through this program, families are required to pay at least $10 of the registration fee or the balance if the fee is greater than $160. Our representative at Dick's has confirmed that the funding will be received within 5-7 days of submitting a complete application. Upon approval, you will receive an email from Chek Spend to set up your account and access your new electronic payment card to allow for online payment. Based on the website, you can re-apply every 3 months per child to assist with other sports activities throughout the year!
To help us assist as many families as possible with registration and equipment costs, we would like to see if you could please complete this very brief application to see if grant money could be obtained to cover registration costs. We are also in the process of applying for equipment grants for the organization.

2021 Tackle Football (8U, 10U & 12U) and Cheerleading registration is open and will remain open through Friday, July 16, 2021.
Participants will be placed in a division based on their age on August 31, 2021 (no exceptions). The Football Fee ($170) includes registration, game uniform (pants, jersey, socks and helmet decal), a water bottle, and practice jersey with the player's game-jersey number and name across the back.
Individuals are responsible for providing a white helmet, shoulder pads, cleats and practice pants. In general, equipment is a safety investment and will be used for several seasons. We will hold an equipment swap & sell within the first two weeks of July to help families. We are also sponsored by Dick's Sporting Goods and will provide a 20% off coupon to all participants to assist with equipment costs.
For reference, the table below contains the football sizes and weight restrictions by age group. For players that exceed the weight restriction by age group, a 90s jersey must be worn. The Youth Football Ops Manual contains specific rules on page 11 of 23. Please note that Greenville County Rec has proposed (and we have voted on) rules that will facilitate even more playing opportunities for 90s players. We will provide an update as soon as the rule changes are officially communicated via Greenville County Rec.
|League / Ages||Football Size||Weight Restriction|
|6U (Ages 5 & 6) Flag Football||K2||N/A|
|8U (Ages 7 & 8) Tackle Football||K2||110 lbs|
|10U (Ages 9 & 10) Tackle Football||TDJ||125 lbs|
|12U (Ages 11 & 12) Tackle Football||TDY||150 lbs|
Greenville County Rec issues a Youth Football Ops Manual that may be helpful to read prior to purchasing equipment (and definitely before start of the season). This manual also includes rules and regulations including weigh-in protocol, playing rules, and operational policies.
This season we will have three (3) teams (8U, 10U and 13U) in addition to a Competition Team (additional costs will apply to Competition Team). The Cheerleading Fee ($140) includes registration, uniform, bloomers, pom poms, socks and bows. If you are interested in Competition Team, then try-outs will be held Friday, August 6. Cheerleaders who make the Competition Team will also be on a regular cheer squad as well.
If you are interested in coaching, please sign up through the registration form. All coaches must submit and pass a background check in order to coach. All coaches must have a current USA Football Coaches Contact Football Certification. Please also fill out the required coach forms.
We will post details on the timeline / schedule once Greenville County Rec provides additions guidance. Please see our "About" page for typical timeframes.
